nice shops

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

thank god, not everything is insect jewelry and ken-cakes in NYC! there are nice shops:

Some odd rubies in Ludlow, amazing dresses, but $350 for a polyester dress?! come on…

I heart in Mott street, the freshest selection i’ve ever seen, with 3.1 Phillip Lim, Tsumori Chisato and Wood Wood under 1 roof

Assembly New York in Ludlow… cool men’s stuff.

Jumelle in Bedford avenue: a lot of France and USA, a bit of Scandinavia and New Zealand. One of the reasons I want to become very rich

Pixie Market in Lower East Side. You may not like everything but some things are definitely to die for! (cf accessories and scarves)

The Lyell store in Elisabeth street. Beside nice Lyell collection, great vintage boots….

16sur20 in Elisabeth street, of course… even though i would have called it 20sur20…

Websites that rock!

Wednesday, July 26th, 2006

I don’t know why, but there are some websites that I am addicted to like Crystal Meth or something…practically every day I look if there are any updates or something. Like a soap opera watching house wife I would like to spread my addiction & share them with you. So come on and join the club!

1. Gofugyourself (I know I’ve listed it before but it really brings tears to my eyes from laughing)
2. Stuff on my cat (I just love how the internet is becoming the nerds of the world greatest playground)
3. Epicly Laterd (I still haven’t found out what that exactly means, but it’s a cool photo blog of the NYC Vice photo editor & so it features the hip hundred of New York that are definitely worth looking at.)
4. MisShapes (A club that I have yet been deprived of visiting in person, but I like the pics of people in
good outfits)
5. Hitlercats (Need I say more, I mean does it get any better: cats that look like Hitler!)
6. Facehunter (I want to be on there too, dammit!)
7. Lastnightsparty (Yes! I do think people party better in NYC..)
8. The Cobra Snake (The thing I am really fascinated with is WHO is that guy & who is that seemingly underage girl
that he features a lot, that on top of it looks drunk in almost all of the pictures.)
9. Unit-F (Austria and fashion design goes well together, like potatoe salad and schnitzel.)
10. Balenciaga or Yves Saint Laurent (Oooooooh! Need I say more, can’t decide which is better. No I don’t visit
them daily, I’m not crazy.)

A list is a list is a list is a list is a list is list is a list.

The image “http://images.art.com/images/products/large/10055000/10055030.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

More things that we like: magazines. It seems there can never be enough, no matter how long they last or how many issues really make it to the news stand. It seems we will never tire of high gloss pages with semi-clad Russian teenagers in 5000$ couture; photographed either beautifully or purposely ugly. Well, I certainly can’t. Over the years I must have blown thousands on them & sometimes still spend that extra 20 on foreign fashion affairs.

1. Self Service

2. 10 Magazine

3. Fantastic Man

4. A Magazine

5. Italian, British & French Vogue

6. Cheap Date Mag

7. Another Magazine

8. V-Mag

9. I-D

10. Dazed & Confused

11. Tokion

12. Sleek Magazine

13. Purple

14. Doing Bird

15. Oyster

16. Vice

Do I feel like linking everyone of these right now? NO, certainly not…it’s like a hundred million degrees in our office & I think I might just let you look for them yourselves. Plus I am really depressed because I wanted to buy this vintage YSL dress on e.bay & it sold for 400 $ and thrifty me had only bet 351$ on it. And yes, I did see myself in it already having loads of fun & adventure or just standing in front of the altar with it. Sniff! I think I will be needing therapy for e.bay soon, I keep dreaming of these dresses that were auctioned by somebody else. Seriously. (Fine, I linked the mags, because I’m just that kind of a sweet heart)

MORE things that we like

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

We really like Charlotte Rampling in ‘The Night Porter’… and we really like tons of different designers, which I am sure all of you already know, but I thought a little list couldn’t hurt:

1. Terry de Havilland

2. Biba

3. Lover

4. Tsubi

5. Cassette Playa

6. Threeasfour

7. Imitation of Christ

8. United Bamboo

9. Helle Mardahl

10. Mended Veil

11. Veiled

12. Tsumori Chisato

13. Emma Cook

14. Zaldy

15. KTZ

See I’d sell my own grandmother for a pair of Terry de Havilland shoes, a T-shirt from Cassette Player, jeans from Tsubi, a dress from Zaldy, everything from Biba, leggings from Veiled, jewelry from Mended Veil, something sexy from Imitation of Christ, a dress from Emma Cook….OH! I could go on forever and ever & eventhough I never wanted a rich, affluent older man…I am starting to rethink the plus & minus of well, you know.
